How was your experience?

Clear I hated it I didn't like it It was OK I liked it I loved it!
Verdi's Requiem brought back memories of my college days of many, many years ago. We performed it a few times with the Houston Symphony. On a whole, though, I enjoyed the concert, but the soprano soloist was, by far, a cut above the others. Although the Mezzo had a powerful voice, I personally did not like the blend in their duets. The tenor was also strong. The basso, however, tended to go flat on his bottom notes, but when the quartet sang acapella in one section, I didn't know who the composer was...certainly not Verdi. I'm not sure who threw them off pitch and key as they tried to find the correct notes. They did eventually found them when the orchestra began to play in the next section. The sound was mostly good (except for the 3 helicopters passing), but the cameras left much to be desired. Several times the screen just showed bright colors and there seemed to be only one camera working for awhile, which focused directly on the conductor at the front angle..even during some of the arias. I'd rather have seen the vocalist sing at those points. PLEASE NOTE: The info regarding "Park and Ride" out of Westchester is totally incorrect. I never did find the pick up point and wound up having to drive to the bowl, after arriving too late for the Culver City bus. Although we began our journey around 5, we arrived at the bowl just in time, around 7:55. This info needs correcting. I went into a restaurant at the address shown online and was told that they have been trying for some time to get that info corrected.

Help others enjoy a great night out

Don't drive, but do make sure the "park and ride" location is correct, even though it's listed on the internet.
