How was your experience?
My husband and I spent a delightful afternoon walking the Greenway and eating at Legal's, ending the day with the sunset cruise. We were frustrated at first that a radio station was played over the speakers and that there was no narration of what we were seeing for the first 45 minutes. Once sunset neared, however, we pulled up near Old Ironsides to witness the daily firing of its cannon exactly at sunset, and the captain oriented us to the sights and history of this part of Boston. The panoramic view of Old North Church, the Zakim Bridge, Bunker Hill Monument, Old Ironsides and more is like nothing we've ever seen on land. Silhouetted against the red/orange sky, with a huge crescent moon setting behind it, it was positively breathtaking. Unlike other sightseeing boats with canopies, this one had an open view of the whole sky that gave us an experience we will never forget. Photographers around us were taking dramatic pictures, but we preferred to just soak it all in.
