Saturday September 14, 2013 / 7:15pmSheryl Crow and Gary Allan
How was your experience?
From our originally purchased Goldstar bench seats, we won a ticket upgrade to front section A at the Mercedes-Benz booth on the patio entrance to the Greek Theatre, just before the show began, so we were pretty happy about that. We were seeing Sheryl Crow live for the first time and enjoyed a couple of her new songs (one song included an hilarious race car video with terrified passengers riding shotgun, and the line "ride it like it's stolen"), but watching a headliner like Ms. Crow chew gum while she sang bugged me; I'd just as soon see her eat chicken wings while singing. The real surprise was singer/songwriter Gary Allan, who I'd never heard before. With his powerful voice he delivered a committed, intense performance that never let up from the beginning of his set to the end, and rocked the house. Anyone who likes country music will want to see and hear this guy in live performance. He had a major fan base at the Greek Theatre on Saturday night.
