How was your experience?
I had heard about this show from some friends of mine who had a great time, so when I saw it listed again I was looking forward to seeing it...and I wasn't disappointed! The theater itself is in the middle of the Times Square Planet Hollywood, so because I got there early, I was able to walk around and see the memorabilia that they have and had a drink at the bar before they opened the theater - the staff was very friendly and there were TV screens all around so I wasn't bored while waiting. I found a seat in the theater - it was not a large space so there wasn't a bad seat. There were waiters coming around to take drink orders, which was nice since I didn't want to have to go back out to the bar to get another drink. The food at the buffet was good - 2 kinds of pasta, salad and chicken parm. I tried it all and it was good. Then they put out plates of cookies and brownies which were delicious. Then the show started and it was as hilarious as my friends had told me! The show was mostly made up a bunch of vignettes and the actors played tons of different characters. They did these mini-histories of New York which were very fast and very funny...and I even learned some things about NYC that I didn't know. They used a large screen to help show some of what they were talking about and they also showed a couple of funny videos. Everyone in the audience was having a good time and laughing a lot. The show was scripted, but the actors were definitely doing some improvising, some of which was really funny - they interacted with the audience, but not in a way that made us feel uncomfortable. They managed to be funny without using any curse-words, so it's even good for families. To sum up: very funny show, good food, good time. Definitely a great value for the price. And it's good for out-of-towners and New Yorkers alike!
