How was your experience?
While there were many good things about the production, the play itself needs tightening. The opening number was too weak -- the song was boring and needs to be replaced with something more catchy and "up". The same is true for the ending. Corny to have the whole cast come on to sing the last number, which wasn't an "11 o'clock number", as they say. The whole cast should be in the curtain call, not the finale. Some of the songs were very good (for instance, "Just like the Good Old Days"), but there are too many songs and too many scene changes and some pointless dance numbers. Too much exposition, also. It needs to be condensed. The actors had good voices, but their dialog needs to be fresher -- not so trite. I hate to be so ruthless, but to make it on Broadway, it needs a sharp pencil!
