How was your experience?
Two of the nine actors were absolutely spectacular. Their comedic timing was spot-on and fun to watch. These two need to break free from this production and strike out on their own and do a show together. One actor was tough to watch -- almost unbearable. Another actor called in their performance. They didn't even want to be there. Everyone else kind of fell somewhere in the middle. I actually like this play but this particular production was messy. So many pieces of the production were disjointed. What was up with the 80's music? Where was the connection? What was up with the goth character? Where was the connection? A play like Noises Off is highly-dependent on the set. It MUST work. Sloppy craftsmanship on the set made much of the entrances and exits distracting (doors wouldn't close, broken hinges, etc.) Again, just messy. I was very impressed with the set transformation in Act 3(?) That was very cool to watch -- probably the best thing about the production. Also, the play started late which is disrespectful for an audience that arrived on-time (out of respect for the actors and the theater.)
