How was your experience?
Well.... after watching the first five minutes, I slept through the first half. Then after having an excellent coffee at intermission, I remained awake and gained an understanding of why the show put me to sleep. Rather than engaging the audience with an actual storyline, after all most of us know the basic Peter Pan tale, the playwrights have buried the story under gimmicky embellishments that feel more like a series of one-liners than a cohesive whole. I found it mildly amusing and quite tiring to sit through. Black Stache, the villain, is an extremely talented physical comedian, but he cannot carry the show alone, and by the end even his attempts to create hilarity seemed forced rather than effective. The staging was the star of the show for me, think minimalistic innovation, and delight at the use of everyday objects to fire the imagination. Excellent sets and props!!
