How was your experience?
We are very fond of all things Pan, but hadn't read Peter and the Starcatchers. It took me a while to get into the story, since the beginning of the play doesn't hit you over the head with Peter. After a while, though, the acting, incredible staging and story stand on their own. Soon, the pieces all fall into place. The acting, with the ensemble cast playing many different roles, is flawless and inspired. The physicality of certain characters is beyond entertaining. Pay special attention to what certain characters are wearing so you don't mistake them for being their other characters. Two words: red bloomers. This play is not one that the sets and costumes are lavish and plentiful. Instead, the creativity goes full tilt and creates an even more wonderful experience than the most costly of sets. Bring binoculars to be able to examine some of the award winning costumes that arrive later in the play. You'll know when. For me, the best part was watching the expression on my newly-adult daughter's face. She was completely charmed and amused. I highly recommend it.
