How was your experience?
I took my 11 year old niece and she loved it! I thought it was pretty good. Positives: The singing was pretty amazing. I would say Marmie outshined everyone else's singing. Meg had brilliant facial expressions. And I really liked the minimalist sets and props. It's easy to forget when the actors are so good. Negatively, We were on the left side and the actors almost completely played to the center. It's a small theater with an open stage, I wish the actors hadn't turned their backs to us so much. Jo was annoying, she was good in some parts, but overwhelmingly distracting in others. Laurie was a bad cast. He had zero chemistry on stage with Jo or Amy and it was obvious why. I thought John Brooke was adorable and they maybe should have swapped castings since john isn't on stage much. The professor was also entertaining in his part. Overall, I will probably see another production at this theater. There was definitely some real talent on stage.
