How was your experience?
Unbelievably entertaining! That's the only description for this amazing stage adaptation. First, let me state that although campy in parts, the play does an effective job on the zombie gore. We arrived to this out-of-the-way theater and were immediately impressed with the facility. You'd never know it from the industrial locale, but inside the Maverick are two theaters... one in cabaret style, the other a traditional theater. The cabaret room, which also contains a bar, is beautifully decorated. The restrooms are clean. And the theater seats are comfortable. The adaptation itself is brilliantly done... amazed at how they utilized a single set to portray so much. The play follows the film pretty well and adds surprises to keep us all on the edge of our seats. Bottom line: we laughed and screamed all the way through the 70-75 min performance. It's an annual show at the Maverick and I can say that we will be attending every year from now on.
