The weather was sunny and humid. I wore a short sleeves polo shirt but the day weather was in the 80s with high humidity. I suggest taking a wind proof jacket or a heavy sweater just in case. Although you can sit inside on the boat..
This was our second year to boat on The Beacon with Ruthie and Brendan....and we brought guests with us this year. Ruthie captained our vessel smoothly across a busy and choppy harbor. It was a perfect day so loads of company on the water. The narration was just the right combination of historical fact with current relevance and Ruthie has a wonderful sense of humor which makes the commentary not only interesting, but fun. Both Ruthie and Brendan provide such personal service -- their attention to each passenger distinguishes this tour from others. And our guests thought so too! I hesitate to write such a glowing review, cause once the word is out......
Steps away at Rowes Wharf you can purchase food and beverages at the outside cafe. A little pricey, but the view is priceless. And added bonus....go at 6:00 p.m. weeknights and there are free harborside concerts and entertainment at Rowes Warf...a great take...combine it with your "Beacon" cruise for a fun filled trip!

Complimentary soft drinks and I believe beer and wine for $5 on board. Restaurants at hotel and in area expensive. We found Sorelle, a nice bakery and cafe a short walk away on Congress St.
