The weather was Dress in layers, so YOU can take OFF clothing during the warm, even sweaty, underground tour.. I wore wear WALKING shoes, NOT flip-flops.
Pedway Explorers Tour
There are no bathroom breaks so be prepared. And there are many steps so if those are hard for you, this tour is not for you
The weather was cool and we had a light rain. I wore capris and a sleeveless top but ended up putting on a jacket and used my umbrella.
Tip: If you book this, call ahead to ask what it includes. Although the meeting point was described as being outside Houlihan's, we ended up gathering inside Houlihan's restaurant and were given large coffees/hot chocolates--which would've been a nice touch except that we hadn't been informed this would be happening, so I'd just stopped to pick up coffee en route to the meeting place.
This is a talking history tour about points outside of the pedway. You stand in different spots along the way for 10 min or so listening to the tour guide. The Q&A is what makes this tour fun and different. There is no talking by the guide when actually walking only when stopped. The pedway itself is not what the tour is about. It's just the path that takes you from point A to point B like a road. I've lived here 8 years and have only needed to enter the pedway to reach the El or Metra trains. Other than that it would be a good place to be if a tornado hits the downtown area.
The weather was windy. Presumably, you are touring the city as well as the underground Pedway so dress in layers and wear comfortable shoes.. I wore a fleece jacket. Wear layers. This is Chicago after all, which rains a lot or suddenly turns cold..
The weather was cold and windy.
