Fort Lauderdale Improv Tips
Like a lot of comedy clubs there is a two drink minimum. They can be expensive the non alcoholic iced lemonade was $9.95. They don't list it on the menu but they do have soda(coke, diet coke, sprite etc) and (unsweetened) iced tea for $3 a drink. Although at another show I went to the sodas were $6 a drink. Prices may change based on the show.
At least some bad waitstaff. Very hard to get attention from them for another drink or order or problem. We ordered something that was so bad it couldn't be eaten. Waiter never checked back with the "everything OK here?" so we couldn't discuss it. Later, when all but 1 bite was left on the plate - still no question or concern. Clearly take no pride in the quality of the food & beverage so it would be better if they just charged more for the comedy tickets and skipped the food & drink entirely. Comedy was hilarious. So funny. Food & drinks were really bad.
2 drink minimum required. You can order $200 worth of food and they'll still gig you for one person didn't order a 2nd drink. Even though there's no food purchase required at all. Since the food's pretty bad you're better off to skip it. A cup of coffee, a coke or a bottle of water are possibilities that fulfill their idea of "1 drink." Pinot Grigio is either not the brand on the menu or it's gone bad. We sent one back and ordered a different one and they were both horrible. Undrinkable. Sri Racha chicken was so overly spiced & salty that they couldn't be eaten. Even by someone who loves really spicy food. 15% service charge automatically added to the bill. Non alcoholic drinks are served in little plastic cups.
Note: those who sit in the front few tables right next to the stage may get asked questions and talked about by the comedians.
