Take the Metra. There are shuttle buses from station to Ravinia. Dining options are plentiful but Maribel and Parkview require reservations.
I made the mistake of getting a prepared Greek salad from the Ravinia Market. This "Greek" salad had a total of 2 olives, and about a teaspoon of tiny feta cheese crumbles. It had no peppers. But it had gobs of chickpeas - a cup of them. The offerings at the Market are overpriced in the first place, compared to what you can get from, say, Mariano's, but the salad itself was not worth half the price. When I told the manager, his reaction was "I'll tell the staff" and "is there anything else we can do for you?" Well, the answer to that second question is "no, not now or ever."
Eat in the Park View Restaurant; make a reservation if you're going for an evening concert.
Or, add your own...
Since the concert was at Rivinia, I would make sure what kind of tickets are being purchased. I made the mistake of assuming the tickets were for the lawn and instead it was for inside the Pavilion.
Metra is amazing!
The weather was chilly. I wore a skirt and flats with a half sleeve cotton shirt. Should have worn jeans and a long sleeve shirt! Many people dressed up in Burton-esque attire. .
