Walk around the corner to Nat's Thai on Vine, just north of Santa Monica, hole-in-the-wall Thai with fantastic food at good prices and in large portions, you won't be disappointed. Service isn't stellar but the place is so small you can wave and catch their eye as needed. The food is worth it.
traffic from the L.A. suburbs was heavy and slow on the day we attended the Sunday matinee. Please take that, and the time it will take to find parking on the street into consideration.

Small cafe across the street-- Brasil kiss (I believe is the name) You can get some authentic BraIlian coffee and sandwich. Patio provided a nice seating area to eat/wait until box office opened.
I went to the Farmer's Market on Fairfax where you can get choose from a variety of foods.

Wine, beer, sparkling water, cookies, cheese and crackers available for purchase and fine to bring in the theatre.
Street parking plentiful and free after 6pm weekdays.
Lovely staff at the theater
The play runs about 90 minutes or so without an intermission. Be sure to use the restroom before it starts.
