3,206 Ahmanson Theatre Tips
Restaurant recommendation: Baco Mercat. We parked on the street and moved our car to the theater. It is a long walk, but a short drive to the theater.
Please ask people not to wear perfume or body spray, etc. to the theater or movies, etc. Many of us are made ill by these, and we would like to be able to enjoy going to performances too!! Did you ever notice that scents make it more difficult to appreciate good food, too?? Just ask a vintner!
There is parking right across from Disney Center, $10, and very easy to get out of afterwards. About a 1/2 block from Ahmanson.
Unless you want to spend quite a bit at the only restaurant nearby, eat before you go.
There's plenty of evening parking on Grand Avenue just east of Cesar Chavez (Sunset Boulevard). Avoid the cost of $9 for parking in the Music Center and the delays of getting in and out. Parking on Grand is about 4 blocks walking distance.
The seating is rather cramped. We moved up out of our row after intermission so we could stretch our legs during the rest of the show.
The weather was cool and breezy our night. I wore long pants, long sweater shawl..

The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess
If you have access to the METRO try it. It lets you off practically in front of the Music Center, allows a very brielf walk and saves you at least $7.00 for parking.
Come early enough to at Bottega Luis on 7th Grand. Theater restaurant is very expensive and menu is somewhat mundane.
we are at Master Chef...great food & service, they're open til 1AM : )
We prefer attending matinees, and after the performance, enjoy a 20 or so minute drive to South Pasadena and Pasadena, where there are many fine restaurants. We get there just when the restaurant is opening...perfect timing. Downtown Los Angeles has many good restaurants as well, but most aren't open for dinner at the time when the performance ends. The drive to another venue solves this problem.
