Bottega Louie, downtown Los Angeles, five minutes away. Aside from a bit noisy due to acoustics of the restaurant, excellent food, a little pricey, nice ambiance. Brushetta, clam linguini, hearty lasagna all a delight! Perfect service!
Traffic can be bad going downtown and it takes some time to park in the Music Center so give yourself a lot of time.
If you have time, there is a little parking on the street, but you would have to search for it. parking in the garage off Grand is 9.00 and very convenient.
Parking at the Music Center is $9.00 ....OK
Went to Alexander's Brasserie below the Pavillion. Expected very slow service due to reviews of others and a caution on their website re: allow 2 hrs before a performance. We got there at 545PM for the show at 8PM and were done at 7PM. Long wait for the show.
Had a nice steak dinner at Riordan's Tavern before the show - $2 parking across the street from the restaurant (adjacent to the Original Pantry).
Spend a few minutes looking at the fountain in the Civic Center park across the street. Beautiful
The weather was A cool LA winter night.. I wore Appropriate attire for the theatre......get dressed people.Actors work so hard they deserve an effort on your part!.
Parking for the Ahmanson is easy--just park below directly for $10.00 and eat right there at Kendall's Brasserie. So convenient, close by, and fabulous food.
The weather was cool. I wore You're not going to the beach or a picnic. Dress nicely and show respect for yourself and the venue..
Consider parking across the street at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, when they don't have their own event. Much easier to not fight with the crowd of the Ahmason, Mark Taper and Chandler. Same price.
I took the Expo line and walked through Grand Park to the Ahmanson. A treat and saved the parking fee.
A Word or Two
unless you are willing to drive around restaurants close by are little pricy.
The weather was cool. I wore embellished sweater and jeans.
The funky Redwood Inn a great pre-dining experience without all the expense of the others. It is a small, mariner-themed pub, just a short walk down the hill from the Disney Hall. Occassional street parking after 6PM.
Go to Nick & Stef's nearby on Grand. They have a free shuttle, so you can park for $5.50 and be shuttled back and forth to the Ahmanson. Also, for steaks that taste great and cut like buttah, you can't pass up Nick & Stefs!
