The weather was calm and warm. I wore slacks and shirt. very informal production and theater so jeans are OK. theater gets warm in the mezzanine so plan accordingly.

Many theatergoers were eating at the outdoor bar, and everyone was having the kale salad with the added salmon. A winner!

Besure to allow time either before or after the show for pictures in the plaza with the Christmas tree, there's also a gorgeous tree in the lobby of the Ahmanson and a couple of press backdrops for pictures, too!

During the holidays there are often events happening at every venue in the Music Center (taper, dorothy chandler, ahmanson & wdch) so allow that extra time to park and get to the venue. Also know it will take awhile to get out of the parking lot after the show.

Check to see if other things are playing at the Dorothy Chandler, Mark Taper or Disney! I went last night and ALL the venues were active so parking was crazy!

Parents, it's wonderful if you want to expose your child to ballet, but please remember that this is -not- children's theater. It's rude and disturbs everyone around you if you spend the performance explaining to your child everything that is going on onstage.

Leave five minutes early as this seems to be a pretty well-attended show and parking is more packed than usual.

We ate at one of the $$$ pricier restaurants before the show, that are within walking distance to the Ahmanson... A GREAT EVENING but need $40-$60 for dinner

Parking was $9 and there are a few good restaurants around there. Some are upscale, but there is also a taco stand right before you go in the theater and prices are reasonable.

We dined at the Pinot Grill ... pricey but worth it. Great food, service and ambience.
