905 Rockwell: Table & Stage Tips
$5. self parking lot behind Rockwell and other $5 parking lots available nearby. Residential street parking is difficult. Can go casual but better to dress up a little it's dinner and show.
The Unauthorized Musical Parody of Cruel Intentions
If you want to know what attire to wear, just call the venue. It was casual, so I just worse jeans and a shirt with regular skate shoes and they were fine with it.
Get there faster on the weekend by avoiding the highway
The weather was still warm since LA had a long summer into fall.. I wore A dress but many people had jeans and a nice, sometimes sexy, top..
Get there early so you can get your food and a cocktail before the mad rush of people come in.
There's a 2 item minimum required. I wouldn't recommend eating dinner there as they're really slow with getting food out. Their desserts are pretty good though.
Street parking is available if you can find it. They have valet parking for $7 I do believe. I park in a self park lot (Scientology Center parking lot) for $5. You make a right at the first light after you pass Rockwell-LA.
The sugar snap peas were pretty good but drowning in oil. Entrees about $15. Desserts looked huge. Don't bother w/bruschetta!
I wore Dressy shirt and slacks but lots of thirty-somethings were hiply dressed in party clothing..
You can sit at a regular table or at an elevated bar table. Either provides a great view of the performance. The performance takes place in various parts of the room. Lighting is great. Sound and acoustics are magnificent. If your view is blocked by part of the architecture, it's only for a few minutes. Also, there's so much other activity going on that you're not really missing the center of focus. Everything feeds into the entire performance.
Getting into the theater is not the traditional mode. No matter what your abilities (handicapped accessibility is at the rear), you enter via the back door. To do otherwise means you literally crawl over all the people already seated in order to get to the back of the room and be told to stand in line at the back door.
A lot of people ordered the french fries. They looked sumptuous. There was also a chocolate chip cookie served a la mode that looked like the sin we all want to die from. In fact, all of the dishes looked wonderful.
Parking is a challenge in the neighborhood surrounding this club. There's free street parking if you can find it. I know Rockwell offers valet parking but I found a self park one block over from their valet parking. It was less money than their valet parking.
5 dollar parking at the BofA across the street, cash only, seems pretty safe
