Parking on the street was great. Meters are free after 6 and having to walk a couple of blocks was worth it. I was still able to get parking arriving less than an hour of the event. Saving money is always great.
We stay at the Luxe City Hotel, right across the street at Staples. We love El Cholo Mexican restaurant that is right around the corner from the Hotel.
Visit Shaquilles new restaurant at LA Live for a pre-existing game or post game meal.

The weather was slightly cool in December. I wore a t-shirt and jeans.
The weather was very cold!. I wore sweater, jacket, scarf to stay comfortable and enjoy it.
Save a few bucks on parking. Go East one block from Figueroa where the main entrance is and there's a parking structure that is $10 cheaper
Park at pico, about $10-$15 avoid lots across Staples to costly $25-30, one or two blocks east will save you half.
I think that the valet is cheaper than self-parking at the Staples Center. You can also park across the street or 1 block away for less money.
If you go to the Staples Center, arrive extra early and eat at Lawry's Carvery.
We got there early to find parking and have dinner and drinks. Lots of places to eat and drink around the Staples Center.
Parking across Staples on Figueroa $20, go 1 block east just pass blue line metro tracks only $10??

Lots of great food around the area. Definitely eat before going to your event. You'll save money and time standing in long lines, and probably have better food.
