Bring your favorite comfy portable chair. They rent chairs for $2.00 but they're the hard plastic ones. Arrive early for best seating as it's a sit where you please type of set-up.

If you don't want to deal with the complexities of Downtown Oak Park parking, try parking on Forest Avenue north of Ontario, You'll have to enter from the north, but there are always spaces between Ontario and Chicago.

You can bring a picnic which we did, but next time I would order a pizza from Lou Malnatti's take out just down the alley way and bring it to enjoy at the park. Or go early and eat at any of the cute restaurants that are very nearby. Oak Park is beautiful.

It's a good idea to get early and score seats up front. We thought we did, but then a couple decided to sit down right in front of us in packable chairs!

Failed to check the student price of the show on Oak Park Festival Theatre's website. Wound up paying MORE with Goldstar for a ticket and service fee than I would have if I'd bought the ticket at the gate. And since this is theater under the stars, there's no chance it would sell out.

Sometimes there is street parking, but the lot across the street is easy ($4) and you don't have to wait in the pay line if you are paying by credit card - go directly to gate and use CC there.
