Parking can be a little confusing because the sign for theater parking is small and at one of two entrances. Look for metro parking - a multi-story parking garage about 1/2 block behind the theater. You'll see "Metro parking only" at the entrance, but it's theater parking as well.
I am not one for chain restaurants, but I have had very tasty, reasonably priced meals at the Panda Inn, a block east of the theater.
Gem of the Ocean
I loved the play!!! However, I (along with several others) thought the play was at the Pasadena Playhouse and I went there first. The theater (...Noise Within...) is a located in a very interesting area and I was glad that it was only a 15 minute drive from the Pasadena Playhouse. It was very hard to find the theater (...Noise Within...) and the sign from the street is very small and was hard to see. Parking was also a challenge.
The weather was overcast. I wore nice jeans, button up shirt and a pair of trainers.
Park in the back structure literally behind the theater. Save room for good coffee or tea with snacks available from a concession stand.
Parking is a little tricky if you're not familiar with the location of the theater. Park in the Metro Gold Line parking structure just south of the theater - entrance on Sierra Madre Villa. Go down to street level and walk north to Foothill - there is a footpath with theater signage but you have to look closely for it.
The Metro parking structure is much closer than we thought it was. Construction (years long) meant that you had to walk around the entire block; now that nearby construction is done, you can exit the Metro structure from the NW corner and head directly north to the theatre. Very short walk and very convenient!
Drinks and snacks are available for purchase and can be brought into the theater. No outside food is allowed.
A Christmas Carol
Free parking is available in a lot that you pass BEFORE you reach the theater, when driving from the 210 freeway. This was not obvious to us on our first visit.
A Christmas Carol
Hard to find anything other than fast food in the immediate area. We settled for El Tipico across the street, which was noisy in the tavern section and less than glorious in the outdoor area-- so get there with enough time to wait for a dining room table. Our fajitas were good.
Goldline Sierra Madre stop is directly behind theater. Parking for theatre is in this free MetTA lot which you can enter from Sierra Madre or at the first side street past theater. There is no 79A listed on freeway signs. Take Sierra Madre Villa exit. Foothill is on the north side of the gold Line tracks.
