Theater is surrounded by over-priced "diners" and even more over-priced tapas places.
The Mason Geary parking lot is a great feature that really helps. Parking in Union Square during the holidays? This parking lot helps. Make sure to prepay your exit ticket before going to car. Always be aware of surroundings. Enjoy!
The Mason Diner, which is about a 5 minute walk away, has very good basic American food and some Italian specialties and is reasonable. If you are tempted to try the Pinecrest, skip it and come here instead if for no other reason than to avoid the tourists and get better wine.
If you're in the balcony, bring some binoculars! It's a long way down to the stage, and you will want to see some of this close-up.
Ask the ushers for a booster for your little one. Also, we were able to find street parking, which saved a good amount of $$$.
The weather was Cool. I wore Slacks, long sleeve top and leather jacket but I was cold during the performance. Others in my group were also cold. I'm thinking the venue keeps the temps cool for the performers..

We ate at the Mexico restaurant, Colibri, across the street. It was excellent and the perfect location for the theatre.
Use Parking Panda. Valet parking one block away at Westin St Francis for only $22 for 8 hours. Time before and after show to see the holiday sites.
The weather was warm and clear after a rainy week. I wore pants and a cashmere sweater. Any attire is fine-whatever you feel like wearing except pj's!.
We finished at the Buena Vista Cafe for Irish coffees, of course; had patty melts, they were excellent. Who knew??

Take BART to Powell St, and walk about 3 long blocks. Lots of restaurants all around.
Location is nice if you would like to spend the day by arriving early; spend the night and visit areas like union square or cable car ride to north beach or fisherman's wharf.
