The weather was mild. I wore casual clothes but dressing up is also strongly encouraged!.

Please remember not to talk during live performances. The only bad part of the night was the woman sitting behind me who "assumed" none of us could hear here when she was commenting throughout the first piece.

Plan on parking blocks away from event. Bring sweater or jacket as the weather changes from one moment to the next.

Took BART. Davies Hall not far. Although it was a cool evening, it seemed a little toasty in the concert hall. Plush velvet seats hold heat. Dress in layers.

The best and most convenient place to eat before the concert is at Jardiniere. Also, you can stop for a drink afterwards.

Found parking in a garage a few blocks away for $8 all day Sunday rate. Arrive in the city 45 minutes early so as not to have to stress over finding parking. Limited on street parking. Spring for a parking lot.

Don't drive if possible. The trick is leaving early enough. We parked at an East Bay BART station, got off at Embarcadero and had a light dinner, took a bus up Market to Van Ness: Symphony Hall right there. Afterwards, BART all the way. Clipper cards! Wonderful.
