Take BART to Powell Street. The walk is about one block. There is a wonderful reasonably priced little Cafe right near there called the W with excellent food and ambiance.

It's unfortunate that this beautiful theater is smack in the middle of so many homeless folks on the streets. You almost have to step over them to get to the theater, so sad....

There is a nice tea/chai little place across from the screaming people across the street. There was a happy street artist, a ballet dancer, and good people and one can see the theater from the outdoor seats. DavidChai I think it is called.
