The weather was sunny and warm. I wore slacks and shirt. Brought a coat but didn't need at all.
Park in the Civic Center garage. You will have to walk about 2 or 3 blocks to get to the play. The Orpheum Theater is not located in a nice area
I wore casual wear with a down vest. Saw ONE guy even with shorts on!.

We tried Sam's Diner for the first time; it is about a half block from the theater. The food was good and the staff was friendly.
Motown The Musical
Ate at the Daily Grill, near Union Sq. and had a good meal at a reasonable price. Nice atmosphere.
The weather was San Francisco Cool. I wore Button up shirt, jeans, and running shoes for walking..
We had a delicious dinner at Saluma - on McAllister across the street from the Asian Musuem.
AQ Restaurant - right around the corner on Mission @ 7th. Gorgeous, quality-oriented, fabulous food and service. Try it!
there are parking lots nearby and pretty decent metered street parking (you don't have to pay after 6pm)
Hadn't been to the Orpheum in a few years so discovering the nice big parking lot across from the theater is now an apartment building under construction was a bit of a shock. Back to the usual car unfriendly attitudes of San Francisco which is OK if you live there but after driving 70 miles from out of town running around in circles 10 minutes from showtime trying to find a parking space and finally paying $40 for 3 hours of parking makes coming to the city less and less likely. So SF becomes less of an attraction as they are finding out with new, and even old franchises moving to San Jose or elsewhere. The America's Cup was a huge spectator failure and you can anticipate more of the same. And don't tell me about the train or the bus. That's not a fun night out.
Check out Sam's Diner. It's right down the street & quite an extensive menu.
