Our family of four dined at the Old Ship Saloon located two blocks from the theater. It was perfect.
Easy to get to from BART, Embarcadero station. Arrive early, as audience is invited to join the cast on-stage as they "jam" before show begins!
The weather was Typical San Francisco, neither hot or cold . I wore Layers.
We parked in the Embarcadero 3 lot, for $12 including time for the after show bite we had. They're open until midnight--many places close at 10.
Dessert shop in Embarcadero center, Snowflake Treats, sells their own product, a custard dessert, in multiple yummy flavors.
Some of the best Thai food I have had, walking distance at 4 Embarcadero: OSHA Thai.
"Kokkari," directly across the street, is one of best--and most popular--restaurants in SF (upscale Greek fusion). Reservations usually needed...front area is the most attractive (huge, natural fireplace...long, dramatic bar). Run, don't walk!
WE always go to Cafe Prague - which is two blocks from Gateway theater.
FromMarin, Itook Lombard, Vanness Broadway, Battery but returned via theEmbarcadero-much better venu.
The weather was mild.. I wore a shirt and pants and was roasting - wear shorts and a thin top! .
