530 San Jose Improv Tips
Get there early for best seats and a bite to eat... they have dinner entrees too...
The weather was cold. I wore clothes. LOL. SJ Improv is cool so dress in layers..
There are lots of places to eat within walking distance. It is pretty busy in the evening, especially when there are other events/shows and sports events on the same night as an Improv show. Plan ahead for long waits to dine and packed parking lots. In other words, get there early.
The weather was clear, brisk winter night. . I wore a short sleeved shirt. My past experience with this venue is that it gets stuffy. Layering is best. I had a thicker winter coat that I placed over my lap and was quite comfortable the entire show. .
This was my first time at this venue. I didn't realize it was a two tier seating. The floor seemed reserved for Dinner and show then there is the balcony, which is where we sat. Viewing is still good. However with first come first seat I would have arrived even earlier. We had to wait in the extremely long line for about 45 min. Overall it's a nice venue.
Park at lot down the street, walk to Original Joes a block away, then back for the show for desert and after diner drink
The weather was Hot, but A/C inside worked fine. I wore shorts and button down shirt.
Yea don't park acros the street $5 an HOUR. About a block south is a lot for a flat $5
There's a underground parking garage on 2nd for a $5 flat fee. We were in the outside lot on the corner which had a big $5 but found out we missed the tiny "per hour" when leaving so paid $20!
They only have fried foods, beefy sandwiches, etc. If you are looking for something healthier, eat before you enter.
club food has improved over time, try the Satay chicken. alcoholic cocktails are a bit watered down

They have a very limited food menu during the daytime show, just french frieze and mac/cheese bites.
Closest parking garage to this theatre is on 3rd between San Carlos and Santa Clara.
They dont serve food at this event, so make sure you dont go on an empty stomach....they only serve popcorn for $5.00! way too much for stale popcorn
Be ready to enjoy yourself...but be patient becuase the service isnt what it should be, slow and unorganized....
