76 History Theatre Tips
Sadly there is not a moderately priced cafe/wine bar within 2 blocks. The nearby Radisson (maybe it's a Towne Court) has a very mediocre restaurant. On the corner is a LOUD place 'Waters....something' but I'm concerned that restauranteurs ignore needs of 'mature' people. I sincerely hope when St Paul redoes the former Macy's block, it includes a restaurant/bar similar - if not the same- as the old Rosewood Rm.
This family has been regulars at the History Theater for years. We have always parked in the ramp by the Children's Museum, just a block away. Now we are looking forward to taking the light rail from the burbs and avoiding parking all together. When the Central Corder opens in June, the train will stop literally at the door of the History Theatre. This tremendous venue will be incredibly accessible from anywhere the light rail goes or can be picked up!
Bring a copy of letters/photos of WWII vets if you'd like to see them put up on the "Wall of Heroes" at the theatre.
Brush up on your 1940s knowledge before you go to really appreciate the show, especially if you're from the younger set. Danny Kaye, Bing Crosby and Abbot & Costello perform.
