When my family goes to the History Center we always make it a point to eat at the Cafe. Everything on the menu is Minnesota made with all Minnesota products. The soups are always wonderful. We haven't tried all of the pastries, but we've never had one we didn't love. There is often a vegetable or even vegetarian item on the grill menue.

Be sure to check out the gift shop. So many items related to Speakeasies, Prohibition and the 20's and 30's. From hats, jewelry and books, to mugs, glasses and paper dolls! In addition to their Minnesota collection of gifts. Again, if you are a member, there is a discount.

Don't make the mistake we did. We used to be able to access parking from the 10th Street exit. No more. Then we accidentally got back on the freeway (instead of Kellogg) and had to turn around at Dale. Aggravating! The only entrance for public parking is off Kellogg, so be sure to Google it. Parking is $5, but if you're a member like we are, it's $3.

Why was the food service not open? A glass of wine before would have been pleasant.

Was very warm in the building and add alcohol to the mix, made for a warmer event.
