- Casual 2
- Pack a picnic 1
Bring cushions, insect repellent, a light jacket and a picnic dinner to dine on before the show.
Would have been nice to get a synopsis in playbook. Didn’t do my homework before going so it took awhile for me to understand what was going on and had to read up on story when I got home. But beautiful location and excellent actors! Thanks!
Plan to be here for about 3 hours for the play and intermission. Bring a seat/back cushion; or the theater offers them for $1. The restroom facilities are nice & clean! This place is very well maintained! Consider leaving a donation for the unpaid actors and/or the venue. Optional, of course; but I was certainly moved to! I purchased three tickets but used only two. I was prepared to take the cost of the third ticket as a loss (not a tremendous loss, but a loss nonetheless). However, Evan graciously offered to keep a credit on the books for me for my next visit (any production). What a sweetheart!
Drinks and snacks are available just outside the venue. Only water is allowed in the theater. You can also bring your own food/picnic, arrive early, and take advantage of the tables and chairs set up around this beautiful little oasis. It's small, intimate, quiet, beautiful! Perfect for nature lovers! There are a couple of local restaurants nearby.
The weather was sunny & warm, low 80's at showtime of 3:30; cooling to low 70's by the evening. There's a canopy that covers the entire audience seating that helps greatly by providing protection from direct sunlight. Bring something to keep you warm in lower temps/evening time. . I wore strappy, sleeveless top, jeans, open-toe wedges. Flat shoes are probably safer and definitely more comfy due to the rough, hilly, dirt terrain with decline/incline. .
The venue is easy to find; signage is adequate. Topanga Canyon is a long, winding road with one lane in each direction. You can drove down the hill at the venue entrance and park in their designated lot for 5 bucks; or park on the street and walk down the hill (paved driveway). There's plenty of street parking; although, depending on attendance, it could be a little ways away from the entrance.
The weather was Sunny with s nice breeze. I wore A summer dress.
This was my first time at the venue and I loved it. The car said it was 104 degrees but it did not feel that way when you were in the outdoor theater, which has a large shade structure and is surrounded by trees. There are plenty of tables to have a picnic before the show, and parking along Topanga Canyon was easy.
The weather was Warm. I wore A sweater. Wish I'd brought a thick pillow to sit on.
The weather was very pleasant. I wore casual pants, and nice cotton blouse, brought a shawl in case it got cool, but no, weather was wonderful. Attended the 3:30 show.
The parking is only $5 in the parking lot and there was plenty of parking
We got there early - got good seats and had a picnic - cool.
