Have lunch at City Place Market next to NatGeo bldg - great paninis and sandwiches, not a chain.
Take the L Street exit on Red Line at Farragut North, which is only 2 blocks away.
Walk or metro for sure.

Ample street parking, but observe restrictions carefully. No parking after 4pm.

The event is very quiet. but there were still some of us that read the descriptions to our kids.
Lots of garages very close. cost $15 plus tip. a lot less then the metro to and from for 4 people.
Pack a lunch and sit in the courtyard and people watch
Be patient. Many people are enjoying the exhibit with you!
It gets fairly crowded, so we found it easier to go to rooms with less people rather than in order
Make sure to watch the free movie (The Real Dragon Emperor) possibly before touring the exhibit.
We took the RED Line Metro . Very convenient.
Highly recommend the audio tour.
I took MARC train in, then Metro.
It's DC: restaurants are plentiful no matter where you are!
Comfortable shoes for sure!
