824 The Kennedy Center - Opera House Tips
The weather was fine but a bit chilly.. I wore Kennedy attendees usually dress better than other venues..
The weather was Perfect! A little cool, but hey, it's almost November.. I wore An evening jacket and unusual black pants; what one should wear when going to the KenCen in the evening. When the man next to me to pick up tickets said, "Little Shop of Horrors" I wanted to ask if that's where he shops. So many people look like they just got finished mowing the lawn or taking a nap on the sofa and headed off to the show. I wish there could be a dress code, but it IS nice that people pay to go out to a nice evening of culture, or just entertainment. What can ya' do?.
The weather was A wonderful autumn evening. I wore I was dressed too warm for the auditorium...a turtle neck, slacks and a sweater. .
I wore A jacket and dress pants. It is the Kennedy Center and I did not want to be a slob..
We had salads for lunch at the Kennedy Center Café on the Terrace level. It is a bit pricey there. Eating at home or after the show are probably better options.
I wore jeans. No one dresses for the theater anymore, especially for a matinee..
The best way to get to the Kennedy Center is to take the Metro to the Foggy Bottom Station and then take the shuttle to and from the venue. We took the Blue Line from Springfield, where parking is free on weekends, and got there in plenty of time even with the Saturday track repair issues.
write down where you parked so you can find your car after the play
The Ken Cen provides snacks and drinks for purchase, but you can also try a drink with a GREAT VIEW at the new Top of the Gate (rooftop bar of the next-door Watergate Hotel).
I wore casual clothes. It was a rainy day, and we were attending an afternoon performance..
We tried to get to the Kennedy Center by Metro, and that proved to be problematic because of track work on Sundays. We ended up taking an Uber from the Braddock Road Metro Station in Alexandria. The trip home was a lot smoother.
Park at event parking on New Hampshire, across the street from KC. Cheaper and easier.
The Book of Mormon
Eat at Campono, right across the street.
The Book of Mormon
Parking is too expensive for this venue. Better - Metro and shuttle. even if you have to leave earlier since the Metro is so unreliable these days.
