About Smithsonian Chamber Music Society's Masterworks of Five Centuries
Smithsonian Chamber Music Society features musical masterpieces from the late 16th century to the cusp of the 21st, played on some of the world’s most highly prized musical instruments, held in the intimate Nicholas and Eugenia Taubman Hall of Music at the National Museum of American History. This concert features Catherine Manson and Rebecca Landell Reed joining the SCMS artistic director Kenneth Slowik in a program surveying Beethoven piano trios. Piano Trios of Beethoven Op. 1, No. 2 in G Major; Fourteen Variations, Op. 44; Op. 11 in B-flat Major with The Smithsonian Chamber Players: Catherine Manson, violin; Rebecca Landell Reed, cello; Kenneth Slowik, fortepiano. Use the entrance to the museum located on Constitution Ave NW between 12th and 14th St. Once inside the museum lobby, please check in with Will Call at a table in the lobby and then proceed to the 3rd floor.
