So much to see - important to check schedule for events of interest, map important to have to plan the day to attend and see all that is of interest. Only event schedule is free; map with explanation of events must be purchased but is necessary to plan the day's activities.
Workers/performers were especially friendly, welcoming and helpful. Everyone treated with the utmost respect. Also, it was impressing that ALL performers engaged the audience which made the event especially fun-filled.
You can bring drinks in your bag.. No one checked. Bring cash to tip some of the acts! And, be prepared to walk..
We brought a backpack in because I didn't want to carry a purse and no one even looked in it, so we definitely could have saved ourselves a bit of money and snuck in food. I'm sure you could do the same.
If you live in Manhattan, Coach USA/Shortline bus has a special bus that makes a trip out to the fair leaving from Port Authority at 10am and then picks you back up at the RenFair to bring you home at 6:45pm. It was 31.50 per person round trip and was totally worth it!

The weather was warm and sunny, but there are plenty places to find shade. I wore a dress. if not going in costume, dress casual .
the 'Boar' platter included beans, corn, a roll and the best pulled pork I've ever eaten.
The weather was sunny, windy, etc.. I wore a sweater, flip-flops, etc..
Park inside for 10$, if you can find it. Better to park outside, expect a long walk.
