The weather was 40's, breezy, clear. I wore The entire tour is outside so it's vital to dress warmly if you're going during this time of year.
Definitely bring binoculars or cameras with zoom functions. The carvings are up on the towers and buttresses so visual assistance is a must.
Parking on Wisconsin Ave within a few blocks of the Cathedral was plentiful and it appeared that the Cathedral lot is open for visitor parking as well, at least on weekends.

Saturday street parking was easy.
We ate at Comet Ping Pong, where you can play ping pong and eat specialty pizzas.

We got a space so easily, I'm glad we didn't mess with public transport.
Being comfortable looking up quite a bit is important. No gargoyles in the grass!

Lots of street parking on a Sunday afternoon - no need to pay for Cathedral parking.

JACKET !!!! even when it's warm. Big part of tour is in the shade.
We found free street parking (Sunday) just a block or two away.
Easy jaunt from Tenleytown station.
