They have two options for food upstairs - KC Cafe (casual cafeteria style) and Roof Terrace Restaurant (formal sit down) - otherwise there are bars and concussion downstairs outside the theater
Park in the Watergate - less expensive than the KC and easier to scoot out at the end.
There's cheaper parking garages close to the Kennedy Center. Less than 5mins walk expensiceexpensive.parking at the center
Parking at Kennedy Center is soooo expensive. Take Metro to Foggy Bottom & free shuttle to the Kennedy Center.
Don't eat at the KC Cafe unless you have to due to timing. Think cafeteria at higher price points.
We ate in the café at the Kennedy Center. It is quite expensive. I had the ham and brie sandwich and a bag of chips= $13. I would give that sandwich a 2 out of 10. They have a hot and cold food bar for even more $$. I'm not sure that the food would have been any better on that.
parking the garage in the watergate is cheaper than the Kennedy center, and just across the street.
The Force of Destiny
Take Metro to Foggy Bottom and the free Kennedy Center shuttle.
Metered street parking is available in the area, if limited, and is free on Sundays.
Parking is $22 but very convient and safe. I've also noticed shuttles but don't have very much information on them.
Ancora, across the street from the Kennedy Center has great service and great food, albeit a bit pricey.
I wore a nice dress.
I've never had any issues taking the metro and shuttle. It's easy to find and use. Sometimes there is a little bit of a line at the end of a packed show, but they move quickly. Arriving early ensures you have a chance to walk around the Kennedy Center and enjoy the view before the show.
