About The Pasadena Playhouse
The Pasadena Playhouse* *was established in 1917 and is the State Theatre of California. In recent years, the Playhouse has become instrumental in launching new works and landmark revivals for the American Theatre. The Playhouse has displayed a commitment to cultural and theatrical diversity, which is reflected in seasons featuring Tony and Pulitzer award-winning plays. Highlights since 2005 include the launch of the national tour of Purlie (with the Goodman Theatre); Looped, starring Valerie Harper, which opened on Broadway in February 2009 and garnered a 2010 Tony nomination; _Sister Act, The _Musical, which has been playing on the West End since June 2009 and will open on Broadway at the Broadway Theatre on April 20, 2011; the world premiere of _Ray Charles Live!, _now titled _Unchain My Heart, The Ray Charles Musical _scheduled to open on Broadway in Spring 2011 and the world premiere of _Baby It’s You!, _which is also slated for Broadway.Read MoreRead Less

One thing: this is Pasadena. The residents are elegant and proud of it. You don't have to be dressed up much, but it helps to look nice. I'm from Venice, and Venice dress isn't exactly like Pasadena.
